Better late than never! Love seeing all the colors in the trees
With this Austin yard project, the owner kept complaining that nothing would grow with all the shade so we started talking about making some changes. We removed all the grass, removed a playscape area her kids had outgrown and re-purposed the pea gravel to create some open space in the landscape. We then added a […]

Keep a l?k out for these two! They seem like fun yard friends now but in no time you’re going to find their burrs on all your socks, pants and pets. Velcro Weed on top and Spreading Hedge Parsley, pull them before they put up a real fight!

Sometimes I choose boulders for a living. ??#atxdesign #atxstyle #atxspring #gardengurus
These little water clovers are the cutest, and the best part is that they’re actually tiny ferns! #texasnative
The sun might be hiding today but the flowers over @caffemedici sure aren’t!
The gardener in her natural habitat. Pruning roses in Rosedale the week after valentines. Couldn’t get more poetic than that.. #gardengurus #atxdesign #atxstyle #atxspring #itstoohotalready #rosedale
I am entering into my second spring in my home. It’s a nice modest mid century ranch style home. The previous owners, Fred & Karin, lived in it since 1971 and did many things to improve the energy efficiency that I feel truly grateful for. Karin was an avid gardener & birder, which I am starting to get really interested in. The landscape around my new home is filled to the brim with rosemaries, salvias, lantanas, milk weeds & many other native & drought tolerant plants & trees. In the summer we are chock full of hummingbirds, several types of butterflies, lizards, & dragon flies. I feel like everyday I spend in my landscape I discover something new. This weekend I’ve been pruning for spring, top dressing with compost & weeding. I found this lovely hyacinth hidden behind a flame acanthus that we cut back a few weeks ago. These bulbs grow low to the ground & are considered an early spring bloomer. If u bend way down there u will be so happy u did because they have an incredibly sweet scent that reminds me of roses and honey. Thank u Karin for planting secrets that will unfold themselves for years to come. Everyday is a pleasure to be outside in the central Texas spring weather digging in the dirt for fun & for work. ???☺️#gardengurus #atxspring #atxlifestyle #atxstyle #atxdesign
