I met these people at the home and garden show in 2016. They were looking to modernize the design of their house in whatever way possible. They had just installed the pool and the backyard was ripped up. They wanted to create a patio on the back of the house and install grass for most of the yard for their 3 teenaged sons to have space. I designed a curved back patio with a fun lueder's pattern and beds on either side. We graded the yard, built the retaining edge and patio along with a walkway to the pool.
Then a couple years later they came back with the idea to add a covered space behind the pool. They asked me for a referral to build the structure which I found and provided. We then came in to level out the space underneath and put patio stone down there. These were precast concrete pavers made locally that the homeowner found. We put together the design and laid out all of the stone. The homeowner then installed the bamboo along the sides. We designed and made the veggie beds along the side of the pool. If I was doing those again I would change a few things, but it was a good experiment.
